Welcome to the world of microbiology! Microbio, is an exclusive blog which explores the latest microbiology trends and the industry. Throughout the journey, you will witness the trending fields and areas of consideration in the scientific world. Microbio consists of three segments which cover a diverse number of fields such as astromicrobiology, technological microbiology and microbial biotechnology. This was developed with the sole focus of providing scientific education and empowering science enthusiasts to step into the world of microbiology research.

Our characteristic blog article on astromicrobiology, is an interesting read on the role of microbes in evolution to colonizing Mars. The graphical poster is a descriptive journey to marine pollution and bioremediation with regards to Sri Lanka’s worst marine disaster from X-Press Pearl. I've always followed this famous saying, "Enjoy the little Things". Animals, Plants and all other higher macro organisms evolved from these micro-genome is a fact. When life ends every King on this planet becomes feast to microbes again. So its a matter of fact that they are farming us and we should pay tribute. I joined my colleagues on this wonderful quest in search of this marvellous miniature life which is seen only when you see close enough.

Microorganisms have always been an essential part of human life since the past. I am indeed pleasured to join this project to share as well as to broaden my knowledge on microorganisms. I really enjoyed reading and exploring on this. The team I'm working with is amazing.

Story behind the Video

It was little hard for me as a newbie for video editing, But passion towards Microbiology and dedication made it happen.

In the video myself and Pabasara (the script writer) tried to emphasize the microbial ascpects of COVID-19 and the importance of vaccination for the prevention of disease. Also we tried to break some myths which are strongly rooted in the society.

Being a project by us as undergraduates of University of Colombo, faculty of science, this blog focuses on addressing uprising global issues providing possible answers per our friendly microbiome with the hope of extending our vision to reach new dimensions of microbiology in future aspects.
